i worked hard as fuck off a deep, hard journey to make this week something good . . . and i did pretty well . . . it's a long road, i still don't have a job . . .

updated radio page for the coming weekend's show, first of five weekends in a row with new shows . . . also continued work on Scriptor Press Sampler | 12 | 2010 Annual, content all chosen, now it's time for a text edit & then page layout . . . Cenacle | 77 | April 2011 work is under way, starting to gather contributions . . . this month is when the press's work starts to get heavy again, & good on that . . .

i pushed harder into my job hunt this week, cleaning up email, & so finally writing to everyone who I've contacted in recent months . . . I don't know if the nibbles right now are real or not . . . I talk to people on the phone, I know I am sincere, my need is real, my offer genuine . . . what the person on the other end is all about, I just don't fucking know by a friendly bodiless voice . . . anyway, rock on . . .

i have an interview on monday for a full-time job in boston, first in-person interview i've had in don't-know-how-fucking-long . . . it looks promising . . . but consider me to be asking with all my heart, Universe, please make this the lucky break for which I've waited . . . this is plain asking . . .

Cenacle | 77 | April 2011 work is under way, starting to gather contributions . . .

interview was alright, i did my best, feeling like a raggedy man walking into the glare of the lights, asking for help in the form of a job . . . hard these days not to equate my worth and lack of it with this process . . . but i am trying to be more aware of things, and believing choicelessly that my lucky break is very soon . . .

that said, or nearly all said again, i can also say that The ElectroLounge is 13 years old today, first anniversary celebrated me living in boston area since 2002, & in april of that year my mind was set on moving to oregon no matter what . . . so here I am, 9 years after that, those days, these days, the heady fucking mix of it all . . . grateful to be here, angry that i'm jobless still, hopeful things will work out better as time goes along, & the one idea I've heard of late that sticks is that free will is learned, earned, sounds like a good goal to me for awhile to come . . .

Cenacle | 77 | April 2011 work is under way, content in hand, now the push to get my own writing done for it . . .

job hunt dogs me on and on, but I am working on a plan I may start seeing to fruition on monday . . . important meeting that day . . . more soon on that . . .

this weekend & next Encore Weekends for the radio, time to get Scriptor Press Sampler | 12 | 2010 Annual and Cenacle | 77 | April 2011 work done . . . next weekend is the first Jellicle Literary Guild meeting of 2011 . . . glad to have all of these long-time projects well under way again . . . & anyone tuning in the radio will hear the DJs from the past month or so, very good stuff all around . . .

my job hunt has taken, perhaps, a positive twist, as a meeting toward me managing an archives/website went very well . . . the catch? no funding in place yet to pay me . . . so for now I am working on the faith that it will come sooner than later, & this many months job hunt nightmare concluded . . . of course, till that happens, I am still job hunting . . . can't be stupid . . . hopeful but not stupid . . .

Cenacle | 77 | April 2011 work is done, save for a last weathered-eye scour of the text, then it will get fully distributed, what began last weekend at first Jellicle Literary Guild meeting of 2011 . . . a really good one which included our friend Victor V visiting from Oregon . . . the JG seems to have found its footing again, four times a year, aligned with new releases of The Cenacle . . . often enough to matter but not become a stressful burden . . . more than ever, it is a special event, & that's how I like it, carry on its history, & move along into new territory . . .

So close is Scriptor Press Sampler | 12 | 2010 Annual to being done, it's late, but it's close, & once it's out, I'm going to jack its distribution to levels not reached previously . . . Boston area is my canvas, though I will push it farther too . . . my plan is to print as many copies as I can, using old ink cartridges that have been taking up space . . . that will use them up & I'll be able to really go to town with distribution . . . this periodical was always intended for this purpose, it's time it happened . . .

Job hunt slowed while these things above happening, now it's time to hit the gas again . . . oh & my birthday came & went this week . . . May 4 is way more important to me, the date I started my journal back when . . . in sum, I'm still swinging . . . more soon . . .

there was a fair amount that did not get done this week (radio update did, work on finishing new Cenacle is too long still at the dissemination stage), but in a way its most notable event for me was the very positive job interview I had by phone this morning . . . it may be my time to crawl from the jobless hole . . . & of course the wait to know one way or another, but I am hopeful, not dumb hopeful, just hopeful . . . please, Universe, let me fill this hole in my life so that the rest will benefit & I can do better by myself & the world again . . . I ask please & say thanks you . . .

tonight i can say here that i have scored work in the boston area, first time since spring 2002, when i was in heart-despair & no shape for anything much . . . i started on friday work as a contract project editor for a healthcare company . . . in short, i'll be leading a contracted team of writers to create content . . . the kind of work that might go on & on if it goes well . . . i am deeply grateful tonight not to be again bemoaning my jobless state . . . thank you, Universe . . .

And . . . here's The Cenacle #77 | April 2011 | 16th Anniversary Issue . . . out of the gate & ready to roll . . . Can it be really 16 years of this literature & arts journal? I suppose the numbers add up, but it still seems strange. This new issue features what amounts to an all-star cast of the periodical’s recent contributors . . . the contents include:

• Classic fiction by Nathaniel Hawthorne
• Psychedelics essay by Terence McKenna
• Photography by Kassandra & Raymond Soulard, Jr.
• From Soulard’s Notebooks commentary
• Notes from New England by Raymond Soulard Jr.

And also here's Scriptor Press Sampler #12 | 2010 Annual My thoughts this year are to distribute this periodical farther & wider than before, picking up the idea I had for it when it first began in 1999 . . . the contents of this new issue include:

• Poetry by Joe Ciccone, Ric Amante, Tom Sheehan, Zannemarie Lloyd Taylor, Martina Newberry, & Raymond Soulard, Jr.
• Fiction by G.C. Dillon & Horse Lampner, & fixtion by Raymond Soulard, Jr.
• Language essay by Ralph Emerson
• Letter by Jim Burke III
• Essay on Wilhelm Reich by Alex Smith
• Psychedelics essay by Dave King
• J.D. Salinger tribute by Raymond Soulard, Jr.
• Photography by Victor Vanek, & by Kassandra & Raymond Soulard, Jr.

Lastly (yes, I promise), I’ve decided to continue the Burning Man Books series under the name TransArtBooks (funny little word play there) & find a new venue to continue the No Borders Bookstore aspect of this project. It’s taken awhile for me to get re-settled in Boston, & so the first TAB titles will not be coming until the summer of 2012. . . .
